Heritage Wall, Camberwell

@food.fiend.melbourne

We visited Heritage Wall, in Camberwell, within the first week of it opening. The decor was quite minimalist, with a lot of empty space available and it was still quite quiet at 10am on a Sunday morning. It's up out of the bustle of Bourke Road in Camberwell and is competing with a lot of other new cafes on the popular strip.

The menu is refreshing a boasts a very eclectic and Middle Eastern approach to more traditional brunch staples, which was exciting. The pricing was decent for a new cafe and the coffee tasted nice.

Heritage Wall Menu

We ordered the Bircher Muesli with chia, oats, dates and mixed seeds topped with strawberries, poached pear and saffron yoghurt ($15). This dish was presented very creatively, but the pear on top didn't look great. All the flavours blended well together and tasted delicious. The serving size was perfect.

We also ordered the Smashed Avocado with roasted cherry tomatoes, feta, fresh herbs, lime, chilli flakes, dukkah, pesto & a poached egg ($20). This dish was absolutely beautiful! All of the strong flavours blended together to create a great dish that was very filling. It had the potential to be quite overpowering, but it was great!

Overall, this place has a lot of potential and should become quite popular as their clientele grows. The staff are friendly, but when we visited, they were still unfamiliar with the menu and kept their space once we'd ordered. I'd highly recommend visiting Heritage Wall before it becomes popular and you have to start waiting for a table. At the moment, it is a great place to enjoy a quieter brunch on the weekend.
