Street Talk Espresso, Armadale

@food.fiend.melbourne

Thanks to @kloopr.official's Instagram competition, I was able to live it up this weekend at Street Talk Espresso, my favourite cafe in Melbourne, with a $150 voucher for brunching fun times with 3 mates.

Street Talk Espresso Menu (July 2017)

It was so great to have the luxury to order whatever we wanted without having to worry about the price. We all ordered a main and made sure to save room for the French Toast as dessert. We also ordered coffees and 2 smoothies.

I ordered "Benedict the Street Talk Espresso Way" ($18) with maple bacon, poached eggs, applewood smoked hollandaise on Dr Marty's Crumpets. So delicious & not too large a serve. The maple bacon was cooked to perfection and the crumpets were a great change to the usual English muffin or sourdough.

Eggs Benny $18

Tommy ordered the Braised Brisket Ragu ($24) with house made fettuccine pasta, slow braised beef brisket, sugo di pomodoro (the sauce), baby basil, cherry tomato & grated pecorino (cheese). This was a very generous serve, but Tommy had no issues polishing it off.

Steph ordered "The Mighty Ducks" ($24) with zucchini, cauliflower & haloumi fritters topped with 5-spice duck breast, lemon tahini yoghurt, soft herb salad, toffee glass shards & sage butter jus. Very fancy & probably the prettiest dish on the table that day. We were all intruiged by the "glass shard", but decided it tasted great with the rest of the dish, but not so much on it's own haha.

The Mighty Ducks $24

Adam had the "I am IRON MAN" ($20), which I kind of bullied him into ordering because I thought it was the dish that Street Talk bought out with a dome and a big dry ice reveal. I was wrong. Still a pretty dish, but the presentation wasn't as grand. This dish had a pan seared salmon fillet, sauteed cauliflower florets, green peas, fresh chilli, lentil puree, almond flakes & paprika foam. The foam sat delicately upon the salmon fillet, so I had to be quick with photos before it disappeared. He said it tasted lovely.

I am IRON MAN $20

We then ordered 2 "Boss of Challah" French Toasts ($19 per serve) to share between both couples and it was the perfect end to the meal. Thanks for a mean feed, guys! :)
