I had the privilege of attending the first ever blogger event at Dolce House Gelato this week and was treated to a three course dessert - how lux!
I finally got to meet bloggers such as @crumbsofafoodie, @feedblogspot, @inbetweendesserts and @melbourne_food_finds. We got to sit in their newly opened, upstairs dining area and had a few savoury appetisers (proscuitto skewers & crumbed prawns) before diving into the sweet stuff.

Course 1 was a platter selection of mini gelato cups. Each cup had 2 flavours in it - I had passionfruit/mango and Tommy had rum & raisin/honeycomb. All of their gelato is made fresh on site and tasted delicious!

Course 2 was a Unicorn Freak Shake ($12.50) that was almost too beautiful to eat! It is a Vanilla thick shake topped with bubble gum gelato in a cone, a cookie, candy, fairy floss and home-made marshmallows. The purple marshmallow is grape flavoured and tastes exactly like grape Hubba Bubba - amazing! This was a huge drink and I shared with Tommy, so it wasn't too overwhelming. All of the toppings were very sweet, which made the actual milkshake taste bland afterwards, so I recommend drinking first, then attacking the treats on top. These are available for a limited time only, so get on it!

Course 3 had everyone saying "wow!!" and whipping out their cameras as the waiters brought them upstairs. A waffle extravaganza, built to serve 2-4 people, looks amazing! The House of Spin ($38.50) features 4 pieces of waffle, 3 scoops of gelato, cookie dough, brownies, Ferrero crunch & rice bubbles, macadamia crunch, marshmallows, meringues, strawberries and bananas. It also has a side of melted chocolate sauce, maple syrup and Nutella. A very photogenic dish, and very tasty! The chocolate waffles were especially nice with Nutella drizzled all over it.

As we were all nursing our food babies and discussing our favourites, we were gifted a little take-home box of treats, all with a personalised message on them. It included: a Nutella lamington, mini Lemon meringue, mini Chocolate mousse & a Salted caramel fudge sandwich. I didn't eat them until the next day, but they were all outstanding. The fudge sandwich was a definite winner and the chocolate mousse was lovely and rich.

Dolce House Gelato is the first food adventure that the owners have embarked on and their passion and enthusiasm shines through in their thoughtful & creative dishes. I would highly recommend visiting them ASAP and making sure your order the waffles to share with your crew.
Thanks for having us, guys xx
