MARCH 11 - In a last minute surprise, we won 2 tickets to see Tarantino's cult classic Pulp Fiction at the Gourmet Cinema this weekend, held at the Caulfield Racecourse. We were stoked!
Kong BBQ was the paired restaurant for the film, but there were also food trucks from Fonda and a variety of places selling deserts. The venue was well organised and there were lots of little tables and a bar to sit at while waiting for it to get dark. We loaded up on food and chose to sit at our little camp and get comfy.
We took our picnic blanket, extra blankets, pillows, water bottles & hired 2 little fold out chairs upon arrival. They were pushing people to set up their seats and then order food from the Deliveroo app, but that seemed a bit unnecessary, so we just went for a stroll to see what was available.

We ordered the crunchy chicken & chips plus 2 burgers from Kong BBQ, a jug of Pimms, and got these amazing crushed pavlova deserts - so yummy! Despite our free tickets, we ended up spending over $100 on food & drinks.

I realised, once the film had started that I hadn't actually ever seen Pulp Fiction all the way through and I thoroughly enjoyed it! There was an interval half way through the film, which was good, so people could stock up on deserts and drinks.

It cleared out pretty quickly after the film finished and it was great to see the venue lit up by fairlights on the way out. I had an absolutely fantastic evening & can't wait to go back again next summer. The only down side was that in order to take advantage of the event, you had to spent quite a bit of money on food. A million thank yous to @urbanfoodreview for the tickets :)
