Faraday's Cage in Fitzroy is a busy, bustling little cafe in a gorgeous red-brick, loft style building just on the outskirts of Fitzroy. The staff were super friendly and patient, considering how busy they were during our visit and the serving sizes were very generous. We went on a double date with some friends and were all blown away by the creativity and flavour combos that all of our dishes had.

I had the "Can't decide?" breakfast board ($22), which came with some smashed avo, rye toast, a beautifully presented bircher muesli, a mini OJ & a massive croissant on the side. The presentation was gorgeous, but the muesli was a bit bland and it would have been great to have some jam to put in the croissant. I ended up taking it home instead :)

Tommy had Brisket Burger ($18) with a side of fries ($7) and the serving was huge! He said the flavours all worked well together. The fries were absolutely delicious. Fresh, crispy & salty.

My friends had The Mushroom ($18) and the Smashed Avocado ($17). We were all intruiged by the "crispy poached egg" on the mushroom dish and loved how much avo came on the avo dish.

My only complaint is that we were a table of 4 on a table for 2. It was quite cramped and we had to finish our drinks so that the waitress could put down our meals. Other than that, a very enjoyable visit! :)
