I drove 45 minutes with high expectations of the feast awaiting me at Hide & Seek Fish and Chippery in Tullamarine a few weekends ago. I made my way through a whole podcast and had the aircon blaring. Due to roadworks, I nearly missed the turn off on the highway, but I eventually found my way.
The shop front was huge! I was expecting a more traditional looking F&C shop, but this was a glass front, fresh looking building with a Scandinavian interior and ample seating and parking.
I went as part of a blogger's event and we were spoilt with a spread of all of their best dishes. We sampled the calamari with rice & salad, their amazing potato cakes, traditional fried fish and chips, a selection of their mammoth burgers and then some of their shakes and deserts.
The standout meals for me were definitely the potato cakes, the calamari and the PHAT burger with beef, 2XCheese, bacon, jalapeno, caramelized onions & Chipotle mayo - YUM! The oreo milkshake was also delicious.
If you live in the Tullamarine area, I highly recommend visiting Hide & Seek - the food is fresh, tasty and comes in generous serving sizes. If you don't live nearby, definitely stop on your way home from the airport, next time you pick up a friend or loved one :)
