We went to Hinoak Korean BBQ, in Glen Waverley, for Valentine's Day this year and had the most wonderful time! I'd tried to visit earlier in the year, but bookings are essential as there are only about a dozen tables.
We had the set Valentine's menu that was $79 pp (similar to the Seoul Taster menu item, but with additional sides and entree) - it was plenty of food for me, but not enough for my personal trainer boyfriend. He said he was still hungry when we got home. We had chicken skewers, dumplings, glass noodles with beef, vegie pancake, steamed rice, kimchi soup and a selection of meat. We had a glass of sparkling each and ended the evening with a pannacotta to share.
The staff are super friendly and attentive and the venue is spaced out so it never feels crowded. It is always nice to see your food being prepared in front of you and everything tasted amazing.
It is not a cheap night out, but I highly recommend visiting Hinoak for a special occasion, and make sure to book in advance.
