Capricho Grill, Glen Waverley

Capricho Grill is a chicken franchise in competition to Nandos – selling flame grilled chicken and a selection of salads and healthier “fast food” options. We visited their Glen Waverley store, in the food court of the new Glen shopping centre off Springvale Road.

We ordered two of their Jarritos sodas, which were delicious! It was nice to have an alternative to Coke, Sprite, Fanta etc. We had the guava and lime – both had a nice flavour (similar taste to a Cruiser, sans vodka haha)

On recommendation of staff, I ordered the crispy chicken burger that came with tomato, romaine lettuce & creamy truffle mayo. I was expected the chicken breast to be crumbed, but it was deep-fried. The chicken was nice and juicy, but the burger kept falling apart because everything was so slippery.

My friend ordered one of the special bowls that came with chicken, corn, cabbage & other delicious ingredients – which made me feel bad for ordering a burger! The bowl was light, yet unexpectedly filling, with chia seeds throughout. The marinade and the signature BBQ sauce was what made it differ from other fast food salads – very tasty!

We ordered the bacon loaded fries to share and could not finish them! The fries came topped with a trio of melted cheeses, crispy bacon crumbs and spring onion. The cheese did tend to get a bit hard, the longer they sat there, but the flavour was excellent.

Whilst there is steep competition in the chicken world, Capricho Grill offers a wide and delicious menu at very affordable prices! They have multiple store locations including the Glen, Richmond & Melbourne Central. Make sure to check them out ASAP J
